repetition and William Burroughs

A 16×20 mixed media artwork executed in early 2012. I used a loose, generic, cursive-like handwriting for displaying an essay I wrote sort of structurally based on the William Burroughs/Brion Gysin cut-up method using written words. The content of my essay includes quotes about the philosophy of repetition from various creative types that I accidently came across and collected through years of research/reading starting in 2007, until 2011.

What I did is I re-wrote the entire essay on the 16×20 piece of wood with my handwriting, layering and layering sentences over each other and this is what happened, with coffee stains and a ball-point pen.
